Diversity

East Gate Small Groups embrace the diversity of the needs and desires of the congregation by empowering and encouraging church members to lead groups in which they can decide the type of group, the size of the group and the duration of the group. East Gate Small Groups are opposite to ‘cookie cutter’ style small groups where every group has the same template and format. Each group will minister to a different need in the body and community, weaving a blanket of resources and support where everyone can find a place to be empowered and equipped to expand the kingdom.

Leadership Development and Multiplication

“The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47). We do not want to be introspective in our approach to Small Groups. One of our goals is to touch our community through this ministry. Small Groups have the potential to impact our community in a profound way as we cultivate a process for multiplication. Multiplication takes place as we raise up other leaders within our Small Groups. The more leaders we have, the more groups can spring up resulting in more lives being transformed! We need to keep the soil of this ministry fertile for growth by multiplying ourselves through developing potential leaders and keeping a multiplication mindset with a heart for our community.

Locations, Duration, Frequency and Times of meetings

•    Location of meetings can take place in homes, our church facility, office space, gym, school/college campuses, etc.
•    Duration of meetings are determined by the leader. Whether the group begins in September and ends at the end of December or having a group that runs through the entire year depends on the participants to join the group.
•    Frequency and time of meetings are set by the leader whether they are held once a week, every second week or once a month depending on the needs and dynamics of the group.
